On this Thanksgiving Day, this is a time to reflect on our lives.
We would like to say how grateful we are that Ted Andrews was our father.
He was our teacher, as well as the teacher to so many others.
We are also thankful for all the love, support, comfort, and kindness from our family, and from all of dad’s friends and colleagues.
We are truly blessed that dad was a part of our lives.

I was so sorry to learn this week of Ted’s passing. For twenty years he was a dear professional friend and mentor. As I was beginning in teacher education, I came to know Ted in our many national meetings, and at a wonderful trip in 1993 I flew across the country to meet with him and learn from him at his home and office in Olympia, Washington. I have always known how lucky I was having him as professional guide and friend. To his dear family, I know how you are missing him, and I know how deeply he cared for you – he talked about you with so much love and devotion. You are all in my prayers.

Ted was a dear friend that I spent many hours with over the years at NASDEC and INTASC. Ted is a friend and mentor that will be missed. My heart is heavy that we will not be able to enjoy any more time together. Yet I know he is at peace an in no more pain. He left so many memories and touched so many lives with his work in education that will go on for generations.
I raise my cup to you Ted! RIP my FRIEND.

Ted Andrews is one of the most genuine people I have ever known–and one of the brightest!!! We worked together on several research and writing projects, and through such close contact, you really begin to know someone–and I learned to love Ted as my brother. His legacy is in the myriad publications he authored, his many presentations, and his organizational ability that brought people of differing viewpoints together. I was invited by Ted to your house shortly before Katherine’s death, and was so blessed to have visited with her. Laura and Barbara, you are so fortunate to have Ted as your father and support system while growing up. I know you will continue to grow and to raise your children so they know the strength and wisdom that was Ted.
