I am a first cousin of Ken's. My mother and his father were sister and brother. I believe the only time we met was in 1937 at a family reunion in Peoria Il. I have a picture taken at that time with the whole family except for Mabel who must have taken the picture. I was only one year old and and Ken must have been about 8. I am sorry we never met again.

My heart felt condolences to Bev and his children. I knew Ken late in his life, I was so impressed with Ken and Bev as it was clear they were best of friends and clearly life mates. The twinkle in Ken’s eyes when he regarded Bev gave one proof that true love actually exists and endures through many years. He will be missed by many.

Dear Aunt Bev, Susan, Nancy, Keith,
My condolences to the family. Even at age 90, it’s so difficult to say goodbye. I’m glad Uncle Ken led such a full life. I regret we lived on opposite sides of the country, and I wish we had all grown up close. I remember a few trips Uncle Ken and Aunt Bev made to visit us in Florida, and it was special to see them and spend time together. We never made it to the northwest to visit y’all, but I’m glad Curt got to visit with you during his time living there. Today is my dad’s (Uncle Jack) birthday, and he would have been 93.
~ Blessings to your family from Cousin Melody

Dear Beverly – and Keith (my son Chris Matzen’s playmate),
Cannot believe that your husband and father Ken Werner would now be 90! But when I read about high school Year Books, I knew it was he. As your neighbors in Tanglewilde,1968-73, we remember Ken as such a young man, of a gentle nature. So sorry that he has passed, and we would hope he had a fulfilling life, healthy to the end. Wow, “a hole in one” (twice!) and all that travel. Our best wishes to all the family, glad for your having had him to age 90. Softly, Gretchen Christopher Matzen
PS: If I could dedicate a song from my solo CD (Suite 16), it would be “What Time Is It?” (at http://www.GoldCupMusic.com – the bridge and last verse may be heard at http://www.TheFleetwoods.com/tributes.htm. May it bring you comfort.
