Louise Breshears

Obituary of Louise Margaret Breshears

Louise Margaret Breshears died peacefully on March 14, 2018, in her home in Olympia, Washington, after her second brief, but vigilant, fight with cancer. Louise was born October 22, 19 “you don’t need to know” in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Family and friends were Louise’s love and delight. She was incredibly proud of her husband and children, as well as becoming a U.S. citizen. One of her hobbies that gave her so much joy was quilting; Louise was able to spend a wonderful amount of time quilting and making memories for all of us to cherish and warm our hearts with. Her family, and her role as wife, mother and grandmother, were so important to her. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family was what Louise enjoyed most of all. Her life had many joys, adventures, trials, and obstacles; yet, through it all, her love and caring for her family remained her focus, and in so many, many ways, she revealed her love for them. Her selfless support of her family was evident in her actions and whenever someone needed help or advice she was there for them. Her philosophy throughout her life was clear: keep your priorities straight, focus on what is important, love and care for your family and let them know in all the ways that you can that you love them. This is a wonderful legacy and a wonderful example to follow: keep focused on what is truly important, not only when your life is easy, but when it is difficult too. Having perseverance through adversity is a powerful lesson for everyone, and Louise exemplified that lesson during her final battle with cancer. As her family, we wish that her life had not been lost to her illness, that things could have been different. However, even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and we ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Rodney Paul Breshears; her two children, Paula (married to Brian Leap) and Jeffery (married to Jaclyn Ford); and her granddaughter, Freya Breshears. Please leave memories of Louise or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
