Pete, the memories of your hunting exploits, the pride you had in all your students and gun club members, your straight talk and kind heart…all these are part of me and so many others; that, sir, is a life well lived. Thanks to you and Marie for sharing time and expertise with me on the clam digs and making me feel like family…which you are to me. Marie and Cindi, you have my sincere wish that you find peace in what you had and shared, and in the “best of Pete” that still resides in you. Missed he will be, but not forgotten. There’s a bit of Pete in all of us who knew him. Blessings on you always. I envision that man teaching the angels how to shoot straight, fish right, and how to use a clam tube! Glad I was a small part of his journey on earth.

How many years we go back, Pete. From walking to Lincoln with you (when you would be seen with the girls) to our high school class reunions… blessings to you, dear friend. You touched many lives. May your family feel God’s arms around them… ours are.

Pete is a one of a kind man that was there for a lot of us kids. I was one that loved working at the gun club and he was always helping children. He will be missed. I send my heart felt condolences to his wonderful family! We are all blessed to have had him in our lives!!!! ❤️

There’s an unfillable vacancy in the ranks of the ‘buckskinners’ around rhe rondyvoo campfire with the much regretted passing of Pete. He was a mentor and booshway for many events and the trails and ranges were his pioneering effort to establish to preserve and pass on. Always a tough comepetitor, one of the mixed blessings as the years accumulated was the graduation to the class of “senior” which wasn’t much help as Pete had reched that level a year before me and still, for many years stood out forward in the competititive ranks. A memorial written in black powder smoke won’t be very durable but the recollections an memories of associations with Pete will certainly last. Happy trails, till we meet again.

One of my favorite classes in high school was auto shop with Mr. Strobl. We did some great projects in his class, learned a lot and grew my passion for automobiles. It was through his classes that I went on to trade school and into the automotive field as a mechanic. I also was a member of the high school gun club and enjoyed that time learning about gun safety, clay target shooting and honing my shooting skills and the love for hunting. Thanks Pete for all the great memories and my condolences to your family, so sorry for your loss. You will be missed!

I am saddened to hear of Pete’s passing. My deepest sympathy goes to the Strobl family for thier loss of a great man and mentor. Pete was my Olympia High School auto shop teacher in the early 70’s and it was my favorite class. I always looked forward to time in the classroom and especially the hands on experience in the shop. From him I learned the lifelong essential skills of understanding, troubleshooting and repair of automobiles. To me, Pete undoubtably was one of the the best teachers on the faculity staff. I still recall many fond memories of Pete back in those days in auto shop!
Pete, May you Rest in Peace

You will be missed Pete. There was a reason in my graduating year, I had 5 periods of auto shop. Thank you, for the years of great teaching, and knowledge you gave all of the kids, and lives you have touched. Rest in peace. Thanks doesn’t even cover it.

I had the pleasure to teach at the same time with Pete. Remember we’ll our “banter” in the lunch room about hunting and fishing. He and Marie were very generous in taking me out on the boat to fish which also was a treat. And, I was lucky enough to see him in action at the sportsman’s club. That man was a spot on shooter. Rest well ,Pete. Your job here is well done. Tight lines and bulls eyes to ya!

One my favorite teachers ever! If it wasn’t for Mr. Strobl, I probably would have dropped out of school. He taught us a lot of common Sense, too. I will never forget him, or his great love of Volkswagens.
