Dear Maggie and Ryan: I am so very sad for your tremendous loss. I met George through DOH, he was the contract manager for our agency, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies (now WithinReach). George was not only a wonderful advocate for our work with families, he was a big support and mentor to me in my job. Best of all, was his excitement when we learned that my partner, Lori and I were in the process of adopting a baby girl from China. He shared his incredible joy of being your father, Ryan. Right before we left for China, he gave us the gift of "Good Night Gorilla" - a book that our daughter, Mari, cherished for a long time AND is still on her bookshelf today. She's 9 years old. I'm grateful to have known George, and know that our world is a lesser place in his absence. You are both in my heart, especially now.

Dear Maggie & Ryan. I am saddened by your great loss and wish that you did not have to experience this at this time of your lives. Maggie, I have fond memories of your wedding day at Villanova's Chapel. It was a beautiful day and George and you looked so perfect together. The wedding reception was so very special where sooooo many friends danced, laughed and sang together. It was a very special time for two very special people. I wish you strength and hope you enjoy fond memories of George, the husband, the friend and father.

At first I was worried when I heard George died on Valentine's Day. Then I suddenly felt certain it was his way of making sure you and Ryan knew how much he loves you and that his love will always be with you. What a beautiful gift.

Dearest Maggie and Ryan,
I know there are no words that can ease your broken hearts. While I did not know George well, I knew of your great love for him and he for you. I remember how his face would light up when he came into the office to see you. I remember how much fun he had with Ryan on the day we spent together at Cindy's. I am so sorry for your loss.
Know that you are being held in my heart and prayers during this time.

Dear Maggie and Ryan, I am so sorry to find out about George's passing. I am a former colleague from the Department of Health, Office of Maternal and Child Health. I remember George as a very thoughtful and caring individual. He talked about both of you often. I especially remember the time period of the adoption process. He was so excited to adopt you, Ryan -- and just so very happy to be a dad. He went around with a happy smile and loved it when we asked him about you. His time was definitely cut short. I wish you the very best.

George was a great person, he was always a person that would up light my spirits and that was what made George the man he was.
He often spoke of his son and how proud he was to have a son.
I will miss George and Pray for the family to receive the Peace that only God can give.
God Bless all of you.

My words alone I feel are fruitless compared to the influence that George has had in my life and the lives of others; whereas George’s success can only be better said by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children… to leave the world a better place to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. “ this is to have succeeded”.
Thank you George for sharing and touching all of our lives.
