Obituary of Catherine Zielin

Catherine "Kay" Zielin Catherine Zielin of Olympia passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, 2011 at her son's home. Born, Catherine Mary Peters to Edward William Peters and Margaret Elizabeth Breslin in Clarion, Iowa on Oct. 31, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Zielin (1989); sister, Marge Rosch and brother Jim Peters. She is survived by her brother Joe Peters (Tess); her son, Ronald Zielin (Brenda) of Lacey; granddaughter, Pamela Zielin of Kent; grandson, Craig Zielin of Tumwater; and two great-grandchildren Dustin Hird of Olympia and Joshua Hird of Tacoma. Over the years she had lived in Chicago and Champaign, IL, Steilacoom WA, Prescott and Wilhoit, AZ, and most recently Olympia. Kay, as she was commonly known, was a devoted wife and mother, loved decorating her home and making quilts. Catherine was baptized Nov. 1, 1919 and confirmed May 30, 1934 at St. Martini Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL. At the time of her death she was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2733 Marvin Rd SE, Lacey, on Saturday Dec. 10 at 11:00AM.
