Obituary of Terjeson Zelda

Zelda V. (Cooney) Terjeson was born March 22, 1917 in Geddes South Dakota, the first of six children born to Henry and Liz Florey. She died January 6, 2006 at Panorama City Convalescent Center in Lacey. Zelda graduated from Geddes High School in 1935 and started at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, graduating in 1939. She married Marvin A. Cooney on Nov. 30, 1937 whom she was introduced to & married to by his father Rev. E.B. Cooney. Four children were born to this union, Shannon (Gary Rowden) deceased Jan 1972, Tim Cooney, Charles and Sara Cooney, Dudley and Barbara Cooney. Marvin & Zelda lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota until January 1953, when Marvin, a pilot for Northwest Airlines, transferred from Minneapolis to the Seattle base. They made their home in the Puyallup valley. Zelda was active in P.T.A., a den mother for Cub Scouts, kindergarten SS teacher at Puyallup United Methodist Church, Karshner Orthopedic Guild, American Field Service Program, member of Linden Golf Club. A year & half before Marvin’s death they moved to Pickering Passage out of Shelton where they had been building a beach home. Following Marvin’s death, Zelda married Dr. Thomas Terjeson. She returned to Puyallup until Tom’s retirement in 1975. Zelda & Tom moved to the beach home and for next 15 years traveled extensively. In 1990 they moved to Panorama City in Lacey. She is survived by, 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 stepsons, stepdaughter, and her devoted husband of 32 years, Tom; Siblings; Norman, deceased Dec. 1937, L. Lynn deceased 7-22-1995, Ruby “Rub” Ramey, deceased 5-26-03 Pleasant Hill, Ca, Verley and Dr. Raymond Reed of Tucson AZ and Jerry and Mary of Costa Mesa Ca.
