LTC Gerald H. Wright Born: November 1, 1928 Died: May 18, 2005 Gerald grew up in the Salmon River Valley of Idaho spending most of his time with his brother (James Philip Wright) and sister (Marie Wright Foote), fishing, hunting, or working in their Father’s ice plant and mill. He graduated from high school in Salmon, Idaho and then went on to get his Bachelors of Arts in History at the University of Montana. He joined the Army in 1948. After World War II he earned his Masters in Political Science at the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence for 23 years active duty and returned to work for the military as a Civil Servant, specializing in security, intelligence, and anti-terrorism. He retired in 1993. Gerald married Janet York on February 6, 1954. They had three sons; Terry (Susan) Wright, Brett (Roberta) Wright, James (Angela) Wright, and two daughters, Story (Larry) Pazaski, and Angela (Grayson) Polley. Gerald and Janet have fifteen grandchildren and three and a half great-grandchildren. His hobbies included rock hounding, wood carving, genealogy, fishing, and traveling across Europe and America with his family. In later years what he loved most was going on nature walks with his wife Janet, and reading. Gerald will always be remembered as a loving Husband, Dad, and Grandfather.
