Her accomplishments include being a career Navy wife, Rosie the Riveter during World War II, attending the University of Puget Sound, achieving her Associates Degree later in her life, and being the recipient of the highest award for volunteerism by the Parent Teacher Association, The Golden Acorn. Closest to her heart though, was the nurturing and loving care of her family. She is survived by her four children, Mari (Dick) Knapp, Deanna (John) Mehoves, Steven (Jill) Woodworth, and Christie Stelzig; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to Washington's National Park Fund, designating Mount Rainier National Park.
