Obituary of Philip F. Woodward

No visitation Philip Francis Woodward Philip Francis Woodward was born in Louisville, Mississippi on December 25, 1920 to Milton Hathorn and Birdie Jacob Woodward. He died on October 12, 2007 after a long illness at his home in Olympia, Washington. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He spent his entire professional career with Alcoa as a Process and Environmental Engineer. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After transferring to many locations, he retired in 1984 and settled with his wife in Olympia, Washington, where they spent 23 happy years. Philip was an active member of the Olympia Golf and Country Club and participated in local and neighborhood concerns. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Georgia; four daughters, Amanda Lyden, of Sarasota, Florida, Megan Moyer, of Santa Barbara, California, Bethany Woodward, of Seattle, Washington, and Stefanie Woodward, of Denver, Colorado; his sisters, Eleanor Mincher, of Mobile, Alabama, and Jane Seward, of Jackson, Mississippi; four grandsons; and five great- grandchildren.
