Megan Wood

Obituary of Megan Marie Wood

To our beloved Megan, you will never be forgotten. Megan Marie Wood passed away October 1, 2009 from cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was brave and never complained about her battle no matter how hard it was. Megan was born in Olympia on February 15, 1983 to Sue P. Lindsey-Dees of Olympia and Mike J. Wood of Gig Harbor. Besides her parents, Megan is survived by her older brother, Michael J Wood of California; step-father Sgt. Larry F. Dees; step-mother Noel Wood; half -brother Reece Wood; grand-parents Ted and Dorothy Lindsey of Cosmopolis; uncle Ted R Lindsey Jr. of Alaska, aunt Pamela Zachary of Redmond, uncles James Wood of Rochester, and many more aunts, uncles and cousins Megan graduated from Tumwater High School in 2002. She received her Certified Nurse’s Assistant Degree from New Market with honors her senior year and worked at Garden Court up to the time of being diagnosed with cancer of the spine. She loved her work and was planning to go back to school to further her medical degree. Her love for life was evident by the way she lived, to the fullest. She loved camping, clam-digging, shopping, karaoke, music, traveling, Seahawks, Mariners, Cougars, reading and hanging out with friends. Megan took several trips with her Mother to Mexico, Las Vegas, down the Oregon Coast, and most recently east of the mountains. She also made several trips to California to see her father when he lived there. Her very last trip, was with friends to the beach for several days. She kept saying how warm the sand felt on her feet. Megan was known for her soft voice and her kind gentle nature. She was always kind to everyone she met. It was simply in her nature to be this way. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Her time here was short, but she touched a lot of hearts. The beauty of a life well lived, no matter how long it lasts, is a legacy that stays behind and warms our hearts with every memory. Megan, The night sky has a new bright stare and you are that shining star.VESTRIP PER DEUS IAM Leave your memories of Megan and condolences for her family, by clicking on the "view guestbook" link.
