Obituary of Carol Wilson

Carol Wilson, October 24, 1922 -- June 25, 2010 "I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free, For his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me." Carol was born in Mount Vernon WA in 1922, and was a Puyallup resident for over 60 years. She and her family owned Wilson's Food Store across from the Karshner Museum, then later, The Carousel, an educational supply store. After that closed in 1992 she worked at Helen's Hallmark until it closed in 2004. She was "Tante" (Swedish for auntie) to her great-niece Amy Doering, who she helped raise, and great-great-nephews Alaric, Garrett, and Val. She's also survived by her three Richardson nephews: Steve, Mark, and John, and all their spouses, children, and grandchildren; and a loving church family at First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her niece Marlene Hawley, and two sisters, Marjorie Klippen and Audrey Richardson. She loved music and had a beautiful voice. She wanted her memorial service to be mostly music, so if you have music you would like to share at the service: a hymn to request, a song to sing, or an instrument to play, contact her niece Amy, at 360-413-7783.
