Obituary of Violet M. Williams

Friday, July 16, 2010 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the Funeral. Violet Marie (Anderson) Williams, 90, a longtime Olympia resident, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Panorama City Health and Rehab Center. Violet was born August 16, 1919 in Portland, Oregon to Axel and Maria Anderson. She graduated from Olympia, High School with the Class of 1938, and went on to attend Dietz Business College to study Bookkeeping. She then worked as a bookkeeper for the Naval Recruiting office from 1939 to 1941, long enough to recruit her brother George Anderson. Violet met Percy D. Williams and they were married December 31, 1940 in Olympia, Washington. Percy and Violet resided in Olympia, except 1992 - 1993 when Violet spent time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.Many in the area will remember Violet for her Wedding Cakes and Flower arrangements, made with lots of care and love. Violet also enjoyed cooking, creating beautiful water color paintings and spending time with children. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving Violet, are her children; David Williams, Lacey, Dana Williams, Altamonte Springs, Florida and Lynette Bounds, Olympia; 19 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; and a sister, June Adams, Olympia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy D. Williams; a daughter, Lurenna Williams; her parents Axel and Maria Anderson; 2 brothers, George Anderson and Rodney Anderson.
