Tyler and I were very close a few years ago. I'm so sorry that this happened and I hope that this hard time will help us cherish the man who left us far too soon. He was a good friend even though we grew apart due to distance, and I was looking forward to seeing him around college, but unfortunately I never got to. He will always be in my heart, and my prayers. Rest in Peace, buddy.

As I sit and pray, I can't offer a lot of words, but come to these two verses in 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (New Living Translation):
"16. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, 17. comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say."
We will miss Tyler dearly and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

What words can comfort at a time like this? There is only One who knows all, is above all, and can heal all. My love and prayers are with you today and in the the days to come. May you find comfort in unexpected places, peace from Him who provides everlasting peace, and love from those surrounding you.

I met Tyler in Jr. High, when he was in band with me. He was one of the funniest kids I know, and always knew how to put a smile on the face of someone who needed one. I hate that things had to turn out this way.... I love you man. My heart goes out to the entire West family.

I'm going to miss the hell out of this kid. Less than a week before this happened I had spoken with Tyler about going to visit him in Seattle. I never got the chance.
It's impossible to not have thoughts of things that I, or any of us, could have done to maybe prevent this. But I also know we can't let those things consume us.
I'm unsettled at the fact that Tyler's dying wish, that he made so clear, is not going to be granted. But I also understand that at this point it's a family decision, and I'm sure his second choice would have been to be laid to rest next to his brother that he loved and missed greatly.
Tyler was my friend. He always will be. I'm sure he knew that, but I wish I would have had another chance to tell him that.
"Just one more who's searching for a world that ought to be."

All of us here will miss Tyler very much. He was a great guy, a friend to all, and a really great worker. We hope he has found the peace and comfort he was looking for.
