Obituary of Harley Wayne Wellman

Harley Wayne Wellman, a resident of Lacey for the last 10 years, died at his home on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 following a long illness. He was born May 7, 1927 in Loma Linda, California to Oscar and Enid Wellman. He graduated from Auburn Adventist Academy in 1945 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1973. Harley had been a carpenter as a young man then owned and operated an Insurance Agency in Redmond and he also worked for several years at U.S.F & G Insurance Co in Seattle. He had resided in Redmond for 55 years prior to moving to Lacey. Mr. Wellman was a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and past-president of the Redmond Kiwanis. In December of 1990 he married Sharline Adams in Shelton. She survives him at the family home. He is also survived by his son Gary of Lake Stevens; stepsons, Mark Adams of Shelton and Tim Adams of Tacoma; daughter, Gail (Wellman) Thurmon of Bellevue; stepdaughters, Jennie Murphy of Edmonds and Molly Keough of Lake Orion, Michigan; a brother, Ellsworth of Yakima; sister, Greta Berry of Loma Linda, Calif.; 3 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren and his first wife, Robin Noland Williford of Portland, Oregon.
