Marvin J. Welfringer Marvin J. Welfringer passed away February 15, 2011, in Olympia, Washington. He was 89. Marvin was born September 9, 1921, to Roy J. and Gladys D. (Brown) Welfringer in Tacoma, Washington. He graduated from Roy High School, and later joined the U.S. Marines during World War II, proudly serving in the Pacific Theater in 1944-1945. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Mabel Miller on December 11, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They raised one daughter from his first marriage, Patty-Jo. Marvin worked at a variety of professions, including as a baker for his uncle, telephone installer and district sales manager for Time Oil in Seattle. He also owned and operated M & M Taxi in Tacoma. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with family, traveling, fishing and bowling. He also was a member of the Masons and Lifetime member of the Tacoma Elks. Marvin was a proud and compassionate man with many loves. He loved his wife with all of his heart, his family, his country, the Masons, and helping children and his neighbors. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; daughter, Patty-Jo Bernius of Olympia; brother, Melvin (Betty) Welfringer of Shelton; three grandchildren, Angila Pournoury, Brian Bernius, and Tommy Bernius; four great grandchildren; five nephews; and one niece.
