Obituary of Ross Welch

Ross Monroe Welch Ross Monroe Welch, 71, of Olympia, WA, died March 12, 2012 at his home. He was born to the late Ross & Florence Welch, October 10, 1940 in Orting, Washington. He graduated from Orting Highschool and received a Appliance Technician Certificate from Bates Technical College in Tacoma, WA. He married Alice O'Neill Schaefer on August 16, 1975 at their home in Puyallup, WA. They relocated to Olympia, WA in 1980. Ross was in appliance repair for over 50 years. He owned and operated Welch's Bargain Center in Olympia, WA since 1980. He loved to go fishing, travel and spend time with his family. Ross is survived by his wife Alice Welch and his children and their spouses Lori & Michael Cardew, Victoria & Bill Rice, Lee Schaefer and Kristie & Jerry Higgins. He is survived by his sister Leola Johnson and neices and nephews Connie & Bill Robie, Terry & Roberta Rudnick and Mike & Ramona Rudnick. Ross is also survived by 13 grandchildren and their spouses Luke Schaefer, Nicole Kinney, Lindsey & Richard Spears, Julianne & Dennis Fowler, Amanda Warren, Stephanie & Philip Hunt, Michael Warren, Matthew Rice, Niklaus Higgins, Joel Rice, Hunter Higgins, Hanna Higgins and Ella Jimenez; and 2 great-grandchildren Kale Warren, Sophia Spears. A memorial will be held at noon on March 23, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Olympia located at 701 Franklin St SE.
