Ol' Warner-Papa, For over thirty years, you have enriched my life with your love, laughter, generosity, wisdom, and kindness towards all. I will never forget you teaching me to drive your tractor.I was slightly terrified & you rolled your head back, let out such a hearty laugh,gave me a congratulatory slap on the back as we buzzed L.P. Brown schoolyard and then headed for home. From then on, I knew that this was not going to be a dull friendship. Your stories and memories of you have and will continue to "warm the cockles of my heart" and give me inspiration for the rest of my life. I have been privileged over the years to countless early early morning awakenings to the sound of your cheerful whistling and jovial genuine greetings to the many lucky creatures that roamed the Warner farm.(Good morning to you Liza- Hey Ol Sam--Hello Kitty Kitty) . Ol' Warner, you have been a father, a mentor, and an absolute true friend. I thank you for everything. You are home to me. I love you.

Grandpa, to this day at my age of 39, I am still scared to death of the boogie man and the up stairs of your warm home! I will say that the boogie man does NOT exist in my home or your great grandchildrens lives, I made sure of that. But I can honestly say as a grown woman it makes me laugh to think of the scary stories you told me and would always tell me that "I was full of prunes!" When ever I think about you, the first think that I hear is your laughter! That is something that anyone who has ever know you will never forget. As a little girl I was a big fan of your garden, feeding your donkeys carrots, tootling around in your garage with you, and going for rides on your big red tractor. You will be greatly missed and thank god you put the boogie man to rest! :)

Grandpa Las, oh hell, I can't stop laughing at the boogie man stories you used to run by us. Corner stone of our family values would only begin to describe the kind of man you are to all of us and how much you mean to each piece of family that joins us as the years continue. When I ponder my emotional, physical, and spiritual strength, I often think of your "handshake!" The sincerety in your grip along with the look of genuine warmth and apprecation for life, soothes even my longest day. The craftsmanship of your life was constructed by your hardwork, faith, and love for those who didn't even know they needed you! We needed you this entire life we shared with you and appreciate your acceptance for all our differences which is what makes our family so unique. Thank you Grandpa Las, Thank you for being you!

What a rare and wonderful person you are Ol' Warner. You held out your hand to me when I was young and uncertain of life. You were like a father and a friend all rolled into one. We spent many a cold rainy day warming ourselves by the old wood stove in the garage and sharing jokes and stories.
You hold a special place in so many peoples hearts.
I hope there's a scotch waiting for you where you've gone.

Las, something that brings me joy today is knowing that you now get to see your beloved Liza again, feed her hay, talk to her, sing to her (maybe Cocaine Bill!) and listen to her Warner bray. You were loved by absolutely everyone who knew you and you are alive and happy today in our hearts. All who love you in your extended community family will gather around your loved ones left behind and comfort them and tell the wonderful stories we remember of all the happy times we had with you. The Warner property has always felt like a second home to me and I treasure all my memories being there. Your joyful spirit is strong there and I rejoice in having known you.
Much love to you,
Lori

Grandpa, I will share many memorable stories with my boys (Jack and Carson) in years to come about their great grandfather Las But most of all I will try and teach them your ways of being kind, humerous, generous, and unconditional with love. To share...my favorite stories are when my father (Robert) talks about the high school basketball days and you driving the bus to all the games. They never get old....especially watching my father telling the story with such enthusiasm and pride....as if it happened yesterday. Thanks for saving the Andrew Family, you made so many things possible.

Dearest Uncle Las, I have such happy memories of our time together when I visited and the oh so interesting - and often humourous - chats we had. Your love and warmth made such a difference to my life and I know that it has touched many others too. I will never forget you. Your love goes on and on.

Hey Papa, Thank you for welcoming me as part of the family 20 years ago...I appreciated your gentle spirit, warm heart, easy laughter and endless work ethic (up at dawn doin' the "farm chores"). I try to emulate that every day. I got the farm chore part down, now to work on the rest....Brenda and I often talk about being "like Papa" and approaching life from your perspective. You truly were a loyal friend to so many people, something that is rare these days. May you feel the love returned many times over. I send my love to you. And don't worry about Stella, we're all here for her, too.

You came into my life 57+ years ago when you married Mom and two children. You provided for our family of four that in a few years grew to five; taught us about feeding and milking cows, caring for farm animals, growing gardens, enjoying the ocean, clam digging and camping in the mountains and how to make ourselves get out of bed at the crack of dawn because we needed to "enjoy the day." I have to admit, I didn't always agree with that line :}
Your genuine enjoyment of doing for others and being happy for others who did well for themselves was a quality we loved about you. We will miss you, Las, but you have left us with many many good memories and stories to keep a smile on our faces forever.

I am very sorry to hear of Las's passing. I worked with Las at the Brewery for a long time. He was always so kind to people and made everyone know he was their friend. You just couldn't help but smile with him. God be with all of you as you grieve for his passing. He is alright now and we shall all meet again in heaven.
