Obituary of Thomas Van Wey

Thomas C. Van Wey Thomas C. Van Wey, longtime resident of the Olympia area, passed away on August 26, 2009, at his home in Tumwater. He was born on November 11, 1949 in Bremerton to Curtis and Mildred H. VanWey. After receiving his High School Equivalency Diploma, Tom entered the U.S. Navy from 1966 – 1970 and served in Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post #318. After leaving Navy service he became a truck driver and worked for several different companies. On November 18, 2002 Tom married Taryn Lund in Reno, Nevada. One of the great joys in Tom’s life was the freedom of riding his Harley in his spare time. Surviving Tom are his wife, Taryn; a stepson, Devin Dickman; two daughters; and many friends.
