Obituary of William Curtis Vail

William Curtis Vail, died in his home, December 12, 2005 in Olympia, Washington where he lived with his family for 29 years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Esther, and sister, Virginia. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary, four children, Bill and wife Regina of Meridian, Mississippi, Sheri Vail and husband Mark Selleck of Bellevue, Washington, Tom and wife Lendy of Seattle, and Kathy Bray and husband Rich of Bellevue. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one brother Joe. Bill was born in Little Falls, New York in 1934 and graduated from Rochester University, and Stanford University where he earned an MBA. He was proud to have been a Navy pilot, an outstanding IBM employee for 26 years, and a devout member of his local Catholic community. Bill was a thoughtful, generous husband, father, brother and friend to many. His intelligence, integrity and wonderful sense of humor were characteristics evident to all who knew him. He quietly and bravely fought Parkinson’s Disease for over 25 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Olympia.
