Obituary of Donna Lou Tuttle

Donna Lou Tuttle Donna Lou Tuttle (born Williams) passed away in her home from cancer on April 12, 2008. Donna is survived by her son David Tuttle (wife Marci), sister Betty Neiertz (husband Boyd), sister-in-law Diane Williams, and extended family. Donna was a resident of the Olympia area for 80 years. Donna is the oldest of three children born to Edward and Martha Williams. She was born on January 9, 1928 while her parents were visiting her soon to be Aunt Lilly and Uncle John for dinner. Donna grew up on the family’s Tumwater farm that is now the Olympia Airport. The military took possession of the farmland in the 1940s and her family settled in a new farm in Lacey. She loved horses and rode throughout her childhood. Donna graduated with the Olympia High School Class of 1946. She greatly enjoyed their company and meeting them for social events during the 62 years that followed. Donna married T J Tuttle in 1952 and they had a son, David. She attended business college and worked for the Dept. of Social and Health Services until she retired in 1993. Donna was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling, and the company of her beloved dogs. She is a 59-year member of the South Union Grange. Preceding her in death is her husband T J Tuttle, brother Edward “Tom” Williams Jr., mother, Martha (Erickson) Williams, and father, Edward Williams Sr. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at the Masonic Center, 455 North Street, Tumwater on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
