Obituary of Robert Parker Turney

None Robert Parker Turney, 61, a 24 year resident of Belfair died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 after a long battle with liver cancer. He was born in Needham, Massachusets to Robert and Dorothy Turney. He attended Mount Rainer High School in Seattle and graduated June 6, 1963. He married HaeWon (Song) Turney on July 17, 1982, in Belfair. Robert entered the United States Navy on August 28, 1963 and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation. Robert was honorably discharged on August 27, 1969. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and was the owner of Belfair Hose and Supply. He retired from Belfair Hose and Supply in 2004. Mr. Turney was a member of Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club, NRA, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His interests include gunsmithing, range shooting, boating, models, andriding motorcycles, His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of Belfair; daughters, Dawn Renee Turney of Jenner, California, and Jenell Ann Turney of Port Orchard; and other family members in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
