I love you Papa. I just wanted to type one more entry, later. I will always miss you, but I know you're happy. Have fun in your Lord's Kingdom. You were great, always spoiling me, and playing with me when I was little. And now I just want you to know, this: Thank-You for your knowledge and love. I love you Papa, you will always be loved, and one day, we will be reunited. Good-Bye, Papa. You lived a great life.

Chuck,
You and I share at least one major thing in common -- we love our food! You were always so excited to see what I was serving, so I am celebrating your life this weekend with a menu I know you'd love:
Friday Night -- Smoked Salmon Farfale with roasted red pepper and roma tomato cream sauce & wild mushroom risotto with black truffles
Saturday Night -- Pork Tenderloin with kiwi slices, toasted almonds, with an Amaretto reduction, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and sautéed sweet corn in a chile-lime sauce
Sunday Night -- Flank Steak in a maple/soy/garlic marinade with rosemary-thyme roasted red potatoes and fresh sautéed asparagus in garlic & ginger.
Thanks for being a great father-in-law to my brother Jack and a terrific friend to my family.
Bon Appetit,
Brad

Uncle Chuck loved the older generation of family, the uncles & aunts & parents--and then he extended it out to his own generation and right on down to those of us younger. Now, I believe in the new life of all who are in Christ--but I can't help but feel the sting of loss. And here, as the fact of Uncle Chuck's death hits me again, the memory that keeps coming back to me is a memory of his kindness and concern at a sad time more than 30 years ago. The morning of his own dad's--my grandad's--funeral, he sought me out, concerned to speak with me and to help me bear up. Those of you now closest to this loss--wife, children, grandkids, brother and sister, cousins and friends--you know that's how he was. May his kindness be for us all both a powerful example and an enduring comfort.

Chuck, you and Bob may not have been the best brothers that a little girl ever had, but I defy anyone to even suggest that possibility. Since you and I have both had serious health problems, we have talked --sometime seriously and sometimes jokingly-- about who would die first. Well brother, you won. Remember, you promised to save me a spot in heaven--in case I have to sneak in.
In the meantime I'm missing you terribly. Without your's and Olidene's phone calls of love and encouragement, it's going to be difficult. You are in my heart forever. Pat

As Pat and I became acquainted, I quickly knew that the repartee she enjoyed with her brothers I longed to be extended to me. It has been, and of course Churck has reminded me from time to time that I should appreciate the find job he and Bob did in raising their sister. I do, and I appreciate, too, Chuck's unswerving friendship and respect through these many years.
His ability to nonchalantly chop ice cubes into thin slices with a butcher knife (without losing fingers) while we sat and chatted on the backporch making ice cream, I always suspected was indicative of his surgical skills. I'll miss him!!

Chuck - I truly feel blessed to have spent last Saturday night with you, Carol, Leslie, Lisa & Paige & I will never forget you asking me the score of the Seahawk game that night (30 to 13). You had an incredible strength & were so positive & kind towards other people - never negative towards others (except of course for a few democrats and the Ducks). I will really miss our conversations, your sense of humor & your constant smile, but I will also never forget them.
P.S. Chuck - Yes, I'm still in my prime

Years ago Dr Thompson performed eye surgery on my grandfather, and how caring and compassionate he was. He performed this surgery in Seattle, and shortly after that moved here to Aberdeen and set up practice here. My grandfather could be a cantankerous man, but thought there was no Dr as good as his "Dr Thompson"! We as a family then started going to him for our eye checks and felt the same as Grandpa did. We was such a caring person that truly did care for his patients and always was such a patient and caring person.
