Obituary of Dean Thomas

Dean B. Thomas Dean B. Thomas, age 90, of Olympia, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Roo Lan Healthcare of Lacey. Born on March 2, 1919 in Pleasantville, Iowa, Dean was the son of William C. and Nora E. (Bruce) Thomas. Mr. Thomas married Maggie May Blackstone in 1940 and then Dorothy Mae Alverson in 1964. Dean proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #94, the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He loved being with his family, working on his property, repairing cars and traveling in his motorhome. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, a daughter, Marilyn K. (Jim) Nelson, step-daughters, Eileen Fagan and Laura (Jim) Plonski, a step-son, Edward (Louise) Alverson,16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie May Thomas, his parents and his brother, Kenneth Thomas.
