I love and miss you. All the good times we use too have together.
I remember when you use to pick me up and take me cruising with you. Or when we use to pick limo( ago ) with grandpa at Sand Island, and pearl harbor. It was aways hard keeping up with you in the water. "Man you sure could dive." I will always have fond memories of you and all the good times we've had together. Say hello too my mom for me.

Pauline (Nani), I have known you and your Mom for only 5 years. This was just before she started to really feel the effects of her illness. You and Verna and I would do things together from time to time and I got to know and talk with her some. I have met only a few others in your family and don't know them very well. But I do know that you took care of your Mom by yourself for many years, even though she not always "nice" to you and was very difficult at times. You have become a very good friend to me and I know I can talk to you when I am troubled about something and you will give me a listening and compassionate ear. I am confidant you feel the same about me.
When she finally passed (so quickly and unexpectedly) you called me, out of everyone else. You cried on my shoulder and told me that you realized how much you loved her and missed her after all. I know that Jehovah God will look after her now, and you too my dear friend.

Aloha and my deep sympathies to John-John, Brien, Pauline and their Ohanas for their loss. It has been much too long since we all gathered together once upon a time, and those times are truly missed by us all. Aunty Verna's spunk and "tita-attitude" will be remembered always in our laughter and smiles in the days to come.
There is so much gratitude to be given to Grandma, Aunty Maryan and cousin Chandelle (aka Nani :) for supporting the family in their time of need, and most especially for being with Aunty Verna.
All my love to the family...take care of one another. Fondest Aloha, Marlene

Cousins, I am so sorry to hear about Aunty Verna. But just think, she is with my mom. And yes, Aunty Verna was everyone's favorite
Aunty. Growing up, she definitely put us "kids" in check, but she also let us get away with a lot! She was the " Hip" Aunty. And the rough one too. At this moment, I remember Aunty Verna wearing her white boots, go-go shorts, long hair, looking great and ready to party! Anyway, I miss you Aunty Verna.I will cherish all the memories of our family! Love You

Verna...it's been so long we haven't seen each other, and then to hear you were sick it brought back memories of my own brothers and dad... however...All I have of you are fond memories as cousins when we spent our weekends at Sand Island, shooting crap, playing cards, eating lobster and sea food when your dad would come in after picking up the nets in the early morning. All of us kids going from shack to shack and jumping off the barge then getting in trouble for not checking in with the parents. The best was watching all the kids sleeping on the roof, on the hood and even in the bed of a truck under the stars so much fun. Your laughter always stood out when we gathered at Aunty Becky and Uncle Wallce's house, when all the family came in from the Mainland we had a blast watching the old movies uncle Wallace use to show...as cousins we will always share great memories. I now grive the lost of you, another love one. You now will enjoy all the love ones that have left us and through faith we will all meet again. We will all deeply miss you..ALOHA...Dayne, Awili, Kunani, Ikaika, and Leila--San Diego, CA

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee. God wanted me now, He set me free!
Aunty Verna, while we are mourning the loss of your smile, know that we are rejoicing as you are reunited with your sister Pua & dad John from beyond the veil. "Families Can Be Together Forever" until we meet again. Love Sarah

Hey grandma I know you're not here physically anymore, but I am so appreciative of everything you have done for me and for my brothers and sister. I know now that you're not in pain and that you are free of all that. I miss you already, but I know you're so much happier now. So, you know I received my diploma first one out of my 2 parents. Nobody thought that was going to happen, but i did. I hope you are proud of me. I love you and Im happy your spirit is free. I will always remember you, dad is taking everything pretty hard right now, but don't worry I will get him through it. With all my love. Kealii said hi and he misses you. He still doesnt understand some things, but it is okay. Muah

Cousins....
We are all deeply sorry for the loss of your mom and our aunty. She has touched all of our lives. I have very fond memories of her for example: When we were younger, aunty Verna used to watch all of us. I can still remember when she forgot me at the store. I chased after the car and can still see my cousins faces, laughing at me. I must of ran a couple of blocks before she realized that I wasn't in the car. Michelle must have told her that I was chasing the car! As the years went by, she baby sat my daughter, Dawn. Dawn picked up a lot of habits from her. When she was about 3 years old, we took Dawn to McDonalds and she had a happy meal. As she was eating her french fries, she dipped one end of the fry in her ketchup and pretended that she was smoking. I freaked out. We used to love when aunty Verna watched us. We got to do whatever we wanted, and I think that's when I had my first soda! I can go on and on about the good old days. We will miss her very much and I know her and aunty Pua are watching us, probably having a drink and a cigarette! Paula, Brian and John John, please take care of yourselves and know that you're not alone....
We'll see you all soon.
Love to all of you,
Kauila, Kim, Dawn & Jordan

Although we've been out of touch, since you moved to the mainland, but you will be surely missed. Everytime I think of you, I picture you walking into my hospital room when you had Pauline and I had Cheryl. Of course memories go further back...we sure did love the water going back and forth at Sand Island. I pray you're having a party with the rest of our families in Heaven. At least you're at peace now and we will meet again. Love you always & a hui hou, Jacquie
