Obituary of Thomas P. Taylor

Thomas P. Taylor On Friday August 14, 2009 Thomas P. Taylor was called home to heaven to be reunited with his beloved wife Sarah. Tom, born on September 7, 1939 to Marion Langsford and Orval Taylor, dedicated over thirty years of his life serving in the United States Navy and Civil Service. After receiving numerous honors, Tom retired in 2001 with a Navy rank of Store Keeper 1st Class. After retiring, Tom occupied much of his time serving as an executive board member for America ’s Credit Union. Besides his genuine love for crunching numbers, Tom and his late wife Sarah shared a love for travel. Their extensive travels led them to many exotic locations such as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and various areas of New Zealand. Tom, known as “Big Grandpa” to his many grandchildren, had a very giving, generous heart. His love for not only his close friends and family but also his many co-workers was always evident in the sly grin gracing his face. Those that had the pleasure of knowing him will remember him fondly as a man of dignity with a heart of gold. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Sarah Taylor, parents Marion and Orval, and Sister Carol Love. He is survived by his brother Steve Royce, daughters Linda O’Hara, Victoria Nye and Catherine Smith, son Christopher Taylor, stepdaughter Ginger Winger and step-son Eric Ness, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss him dearly. Services for Tom will be held at 1:30pm on Friday August 28, 2009 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray he’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him, or you can be full of all the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memories and let them live on. You can cry and close your mind or you can do what he would want smile, open your eyes, love and go on. ~David Harkins To leave a condolence for the family, click on View Guestbook below:
