Jack, I will miss your jaunty smile and the hat you wore when driving that red convertible. And always a friendly "Hi" with a story to go with it. May memories warm the hearts of those left behind and may faith give them strength. You will be missed. Jean

I met you when you would bring your daughter Sharon from Seattle down to our ranch in Tenino. It was in the mid sixties. You used to tease me about my big feet callling them gunboats making me blush. At that time I wasn't even sure what a gunboat was. You would also start singing that song about "down in the boondocks" because I was in a little town called Tenino and you were in the big city up north. It's ironic that you ended up moving there yourself. I will always remember you for the character you were.

Well Jack, you will be truly missed. You and Ardith have been a special part of my life for so many years. You do not really know how you will be missed. There is now a big hole that no one else can fill.
I know you will be looking over all of us.
You had a long, great life and we have all loved you very much.
Your friend forever,
Maxine (Eva Jean and Precious (becasue I am))

Jack I just would like to thank you for being the best father-in-law a man could have. You made me feel like part of the family from day one and I thank you for that. Your unconditional love for Sharon and I and our entire family was a true blessing and I thank your that as well. The fishing and other things we did together all these many years are things I will never forget as long as I live. Your sense of humor and wonderful outlook on life will never be replaced. The Man threw away the mold after He made you Jackie. Until we meet again I'll sign off with our usual "Love you Jackie, kissy, kissy"

Grandpa, i love you soo much! i wish i was able to spend more of my life with you! but i know that someday i will see you again. I don't know if you ever knew this but my dad and i spent numerous summer nights camping and we would stay up really late and my dad would tell me all kinds of stories about you. There was that one camping trip when just me and my dad went to millersylvania and you and grandma came and had dinner with us!! That night my dad kept me up until 3 o'clock in the morning telling me stories about you! Those stories make me admire you with all my heart. and i always knew that you cared about me and thought i was "all right", which made me so proud to have you as a grandpa. i miss you but as my dad told me the other night, you are probably fishing with horton in heaven right now! yeah, i heard that story:) Someday i will come join you. i love, miss, and look up to you!

Well Jackson, I'll say this, everytime im watching a good boxing match I'll think of you. The times we spent in the casino's, watching those boxing matches or you taking all the dealers money in Black Jack will live in my memory forever. One of my most fond memories is everytime you would come to a family gathering up in Bremerton, you always made sure I had a cup of your delicious shirmp cocktail. Truely a good man and a better friend. I'll be seeing ya Jackson.

Oh good ol' Grandpa Jack- where do I start! As most others have said, you always had a way of letting me know how much you loved us all. Whether it be us making 'mad' faces at eachother whenever we first saw eachother, you telling me how lucky Derek was to have me, or you telling me how lucky I was to have him, all of us complaining about the Seahawks or Mariners, both of our love for frogs and your amazing salmon, and especially your belief in me and support you and Grandpa offered me, our special times together will always be cherished and missed. You truely are one of a kind grandpa and your memory will be with me always.
I love and miss you grandpa!

There are so many things that I remember about Jack: buttermilk at midnight; a good slug in the shoulder; “Sampson you could screw up a shipwreck” and other sayings I won’t here mention; great food; introducing me to steak and many other new things in my life; service to the community; cars; taking us skiing; and more. But if I had to pick one thing that Jack deposited into my life that affects me yet today, it would be love. Love is to a person what water, sunshine and soil is to a plant—it causes us to grow and be secure in who God has Created us to be. As a middle and high school student Jack did that for me. Regardless of who I was and what I did, I knew this man cared for me and thought I was a fantastic young man. Thanks for helping me grow Jack! Sammy

Oh Dad--what can I say about the guy who taught me how to ride a bikes and horses, bait a hook, paint a house, make pickles, and yeah, how the break the rules from time to time! You gave me unconditional love with no strings--a rare gift. When my confidence was gone you helped restore it. I always knew you had my back. You were a character Dad -- no one who knew you will ever forget you. Your children and grandchildren will be sharing a rich catalog of "Jack" stories forever. Even as our hearts were breaking the day you passed, all we had to do was share some of our favorite memories of you and we were laughing and hugging each other, grateful for the gift of your wry, irreverent Irish humor and candor. You never heard a song you couldn't change the words to to make us laugh and you always found absurd those who took themselves, their "stuff" or this life too seriously. I'll never never forget you -- see you in paradise.

Grandpa, your passing has taught me what 'gone but not forgotten' truly means. While you've left life here on earth behind, there's not one of us that knew you that will EVER forget you. The memories you've left with us all will be talked about for years and years to come. Oh, you were a character Grandpa Jack!! I love you and I miss you but am, and will be, always comforted by all of the memories you've left with us. Thank you Grandpa.

Not many people get to grow up with a man like you as their grandpa, let alone know a man like you.. so i am blessed to have had you in my life. The thing that I so admired about you is how you always let the ones you love know that you love them and that they are "all right." You are truly one of a kind, and will be missed by so many.
I love you grandpa.

Dad, It has been a great trip with you. You've been as much a friend as a dad, real cool. Thank you for being a genuine person, a straight shooter as you would call others. You gave me the gift of growing up with the blessing of total unconditional love and acceptance. I look forward to seeing you again. I love you, and will miss you, but all is well.
