Obituary of Dean A. Sturdivant

No visitation Dean A. Sturdivant, Jr., 55, of Centralia, died in an automobile accident Sunday, May 6, 2007. He was born January 9, 1952 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Dean A. and Lucille A. (Sheets) Sturdivant, Sr. He attended Centralia High School. He also had lived in Utah and California. He married Patti Jo Bartlett. They divorced. He then married Dorothy Pugel. They are also divorced. He is survived by his life partner, Julie Riggles. Dean served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and Indo China. He was a helicopter door gunner while in the army receiving a Bronze Certificate. After the military he worked in the logging and construction industry. He was also a tile worker, baker, and a roughneck on a drilling rig. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #91, Tacoma, Washington. His hobbies included woodworking, mechanical operations, gardening, cooking, especially pastry/desserts. Dean is survived by one son, Alex Bartlett, of Couer d’Alene, Idaho; three daughters, Apryl Bacon, of Couer d’Alene, Idaho and Linsey Sturdivant, of Centralia, Washington, and Heather Cox, of Camas, Washington; two brothers, Richard Charles Sturdivant, of Morton, Washington and Robert Lee Sturdivant, of Centralia, Washington; one sister, Linda Rae Grubbs, of Lacey, Washington; his parents, Dean A. and Lucille A. Sturdivant, Sr., of Douglas, Wyoming; also five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jaison Dean Sturdivant, November 25, 1992 and a sister, DeeAnn Sturdivant, August 10, 2005.
