Obituary of Virginia Stevens

Virginia (Ginny) Margaret Stevens 1931 – 2009 On October 29, Ginny lost her valiant battle against pancreatic cancer while at home surrounded by loved ones. Ginny was born November 21, 1931 in Sunnyside, WA to parents Virgil and Lois Seay. She moved with her family to Shelton, WA early in life and graduated from Irene S. Reed High School. She recently attended her 60th class reunion where she had a wonderful time reuniting with her lifelong friends. During her life, Ginny traveled the world – Japan, England, Spain, Mexico, to name a few– but she always returned to her beloved home state. Along her life travels, Ginny married and had four loving children. Ginny raised her children to enjoy life to its fullest, just as she did, but to remember that family always comes first. These life lessons have carried through to her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ginny recently retired from Pierce Transit. While at Pierce Transit, Ginny was very active in the union working as the secretary treasurer for Amalgamated Transit Union Local #578 for many years. Ginny leaves behind many friends that she made during her years at Pierce Transit and working for the union. Ginny was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael Stevens (Mary) and Richard Stevens (Samantha), parents Virgil and Lois Seay, brother Virgil Seay, Jr. Ginny is survived by her two daughters, Kelli Stevens-Roberts (Ron) and Vicki Stevens (David), sister Jeanne Johnson, grandchildren Justin, Sharon, Kristi, Jesse, Marcella, James, Tommy, Cindy, Robert, Andrew, Timothy (T.J.), Misty and Veronica, nieces Linda Terrones and Rose Guzman, and many great-grandchildren.
