Obituary of Michael G. Stevens

Michael G. Stevens Mike lost his courageous battle with cancer on Friday at their home in Allyn, WA with the love of his life, Mary, by his side. Born in Shelton, WA to Lyle G. Ware and Virginia M. (Seay) Stevens. He graduated from Lompoc High School in CA in 1970 then joined the Army & served until 1974. Mike worked at PSNS for the past 30 years, mostly in Shop 38, where he enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. Mike woke up every morning with a smile on his face & song in his heart. He had a contagious spirit for life that made everyone else around him want to live every day to its fullest. You could always find Mike behind the grill at a family BBQ, watching every sporting event he could, or attending any band concert. He loved to travel to any beach or casino. Mike was a loving, devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, & friend. He is survived by his wife, Mary Stevens. His mother Virginia Stevens, son Justin Stevens, daughters Sharon Butler & husband Erik, Kristi Barnhill & husband Jared; sisters Kelli Roberts & husband Ron, Vicki Stevens & David; stepchildren LeAnn Rudenski & Bobby, Mark Rudenski & wife Rachael, grandchildren Devin, Kyler, Ashley, Bryce, Skyann, Abigail, & Charlie; sister-in-law Sami Stevens. He was preceded in death by father Lyle G. Ware & brother, Richard Stevens. Friends & family are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Mike's life at his residence on, Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Mason County.
