Obituary of Jeanette Emma Spaid

Jeanette E. Spaid Jeanette Emma Spaid, 89, of Lacey, died December 23, 2010. She was born July 20, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Agnes (Anderson) Vandervoort. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Roosevelt High School. In June of 1942 in Chicago, she married James R. Spaid. He died in 1997. Jeanette had been a homemaker most of her life. For a period of time from 1961 to 1971, she worked as a Library Assistant at the Monterey Peninsula College. She enjoyed silver craft, singing and participating in hand bell choirs. She enjoyed singing old tunes to entertain other residents and staff at the Woodland Retirement Community where she recently lived. She was a member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City, Arizona and most recently St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey. Survivors include two sons, James Spaid, Lacey, John Spaid, Liberty Center, Ohio; one daughter Nancy Kilgore, Lacey; also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Donations in memory of Jeanette may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
