Obituary of Donald Edward Sordahl

11:30 - 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 29th The Masonic Center 521 North Street SE Tumwater, WA 98512 Donald Edward Sordahl With his loving family present Don went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2005. He was 66. Don was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Joseph and Margaret DeBuhr and at the age of 6 he was adopted by his stepfather Leslie O. Sordahl. When Don was quite young the Sordahl family relocated to Olympia where Don lived the majority of his life. Don loved the Lord and he took great joy in studying God’s word and sharing that knowledge with others. Don had many gifts and talents that served him well at work and at home. Don served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1959. He then went to work for the City of Olympia in multiple capacities until his retirement in 1982. After his retirement Don and his wife Edith stayed as busy as ever as they started an upholstery business, built their own home and they loved spending time together working in their garden. Don loved his family. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 48 years, Edith. Don was very proud of each of his five children, Donald Jr. (Nadine), Ron (Karen), Lonnie (Desi), Kimberley (Eric) and Meeae (Chris). Don’s ten grandchildren put a constant smile on his face. He is survived by two sisters, Barb and Charlotte and his younger brother Robert. Don is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret DeBuhr and his stepfather, Leslie O. Sordahl. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, December 29th, at the Masonic Center, 521 North Street SE, Tumwater. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Littlerock Church, 6336 128th Ave. SW, Littlerock, WA 98512.
