Obituary of Patricia Soderback

Patricia Mae Soderback (Trish) Patricia Mae Soderback (Trish) passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Saturday, October 10, 2009 in Olympia, Washington. Trish was born November 22, 1965 in Seattle, Washington to Jim and Marilyn Soderback. She attended Lincoln and Nathan Hale High School and continued her education at Shoreline Community College after the birth of her daughter Pamela Grace in 1985. She was a proud mother and felt very blessed to have Pamela in her life. Trish was very talented in a variety of skills and worked many years in the restaurant and healthcare professions. She was definitely a “people person,” and she made friends wherever she went. Someone could just be waiting in line somewhere with Trish, and by the time they both reached the end, she probably knew their life story. People just felt comfortable talking and opening up to Trish. She truly would listen to others, had a big loving heart and was always willing to lend a hand doing whatever she could when someone was in need, even if that was just lending a sympathetic ear. The hobbies she enjoyed included baking, scrapbooking, and watching movies. Trish also loved many types of music, especially country music. When the mood struck Trish, it wouldn’t be unusual for her to break out singing a song at any given moment. Another thing that gave Trish happiness was to spend time with her family. Being entertained by her grandchildren was a special joy to her, although she still felt too young to be a “grandma.” This past September, Trish was able to go on a cruise with her parents to Alaska. She was amazed by the unique beauty of this region. The glaciers in particular impressed her. She really enjoyed the chances she had to travel especially to warm sunny beach locations such as the Cayman Islands and Hawaii. The things that brought joy and happiness to Trish is how she will be remembered, and she will be missed tremendously by all that knew and loved her. Trish is survived by her daughter, Pamela Grace; grandchildren, Samantha and Traeton, her parents Marilyn and Jim Soderback, her brother Rick Soderback and his wife Lisa, nieces Emalie and Cailyn, nephew Matthew, her brother Jim Soderback and his wife Kristin, nieces Brittany and Sarah, and nephew Tyler. “Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I’d have had to miss the dance.” - Garth Brooks A Catholic funeral service will be held on October 27th, 2009 at 4:00pm at St. Michael’s Parish in Olympia, WA.
