Obituary of William E. Snider

South Sound Manor, 455 North St SE, Tumwater on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. William “Bill” E. Snider William “Bill” Snider, 77, passed away of natural causes, at home in Rainier, WA on November 6, 2009. Bill was born July 28, 1932 to Elmer Raymond and Jennie Frances Snider in Olympia, WA. He graduated from Rainier High School with the Class of 1951. After high school, Bill joined the U.S. Army where he served for 19 years and was a Korean War Veteran. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he served 21 years, retiring at the rank of E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer. Bill married Helen L. Butterton in Tenino, WA on March 29, 1957. After leaving military service, Bill worked for Weyerhauser and State of Washington Highway Department. When not working, Bill enjoyed fishing, welding, baseball, and served on the Rainier City Council for 12 years. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #244, Yelm Moose Lodge, served as a Boy Scout Master and a Rainbow Dad. Surviving Bill are his wife of 52 years, Helen L. Snider; sons, Bill (Kim) Snider, Mike (Treasa) Snider; daughter Renee (Wayne) Christensen; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry; and a son, Harry. Memorial Donations may be made in the name of William E.
