Obituary of Michael Raey Shrier

Michael Raey Shrier Michael Shrier, 64, passed away June 13, 2011, in Olympia, Washington. He was born September 23, 1946, to Eleanora and Herbert Shrier in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Tumwater High School in 1965, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Western Washington University in Bellingham. Michael served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1971, and was a professional surveyor. He married the love of his life, Jacqui Risner, on September 8, 1979, in Olympia. Michael was quiet and strong, and had a dry wit and big heart. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, gold panning, collecting rocks and knives. He is survived by his wife Jacqui; daughter, Brianna Shrier of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, June; mother-in-law, Bonnie Risner; brother, Dennis (Sharon) Shrier; sisters, Sandy (Curt) Wastradowski, Linda (Dan) Godat, Jane (John) Van Dijk, Patti (Steve) Maki; brother-in-law Michael (Tammy) Risner and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; father-in-law, James Risner and nephew, Colin Godat. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Michael R.
