Obituary of Gerald Shaffer

Gerald Shaffer passed away July 11, 2007 due to ongoing health problems. He was born February 20, 1932 to Merle F. and Florence M. Shaffer, in Tacoma, Washington. He attended school in Montesano, Washington.During his life, Gerald was a jack of all trades and there wasn't much he couldn't master when it came to mechanics. His grandson put it best when he said, "Gramps has forgotten more about cars than todays mechanics will ever know". Although he was retired, during his life, he spent time as a diesel mechanic, woodworker, welder,machinist and heavy equipment operator. Gerald was active participant for his class reunions in Montesano and was also a member of the Moose and Eagles clubs. He is survived by a daughter, Diane Lee Bettine; 2 brothers, Jack E. Shaffer, Montesano, WA and Melvin Shaffer, Sumner, WA; 2 sisters, Beverly Sellers of Seattle, WA and Diana Seales of Rohner Park, CA; 2 grandchildren, Joshua James Stish and Siobhan Scrivner. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a brother. He touched many lives and will be missed. Gerald's family asks that you please read 2 Corinthians 13:3-14.
