Obituary of Charles Bernard Sederberg

Charles Bernard Sederberg Charles Bernard Sederberg was born on March 6, 1926, in Crookston, Minnesota. He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was awarded the Bronze Star in Germany on April 1, 1945, and the First Oak Leaf Cluster for bravery in combat. He passed away at his home in Lacey on November 13, 2011, of natural causes. “Chuck” was a modest, gentle, dutiful, unassuming man, who admired the strength and warmth of his mother, who had been widowed at too early an age, above all other role models. He cared deeply for his family and did his best for them. He is survived by one daughter, Cecile O’Keefe, and three sons: Bernie, Russell, and Dave Sederberg. He had five grandchildren: Shaun, Marty, Boo, Chuck, and Whitney, and seven great-grandchildren: Robbie, Taren, Mica, Laura, Lisa, Levi, and Lathan. He cherished and was proud of them all. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, and during his working career was the reliable and well-regarded manager of the Yakima Country Club, Olympia, Seattle and Bremerton Elks Clubs, the Bellingham Yacht Club, and Clarkston Country Club. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the historic Mason Center and Memorial Park Olympia, when Charles will be interred next to the mother of their children, Hertha Sederberg.
