Obituary of Dale Eugene Scott

None Dale Eugene Scott, 57, of Littlerock, Washington passed away at his home on July 5, 2007. He was born on September 23, 1949 in Canton, Ohio to Paul Eugene and Thelma Mae Scott (Ward). He was raised in Canton and attended Timken Vocational High School, welding was his course of study. Dale enlisted in the Navy and served April 21, 1969 with honorable discharge on March 31, 1975. While in the Navy he received the following: National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Navy Unit Commendation. Dale met and married his wife Norma Joan Scott (Brown) while in the Navy. They married on December 23, 1972 on Whidbey Island, Washington. They moved back to Ohio shortly after and Dale was employed at the Timken Company as the Gambrinus Melt Shop Supervisor until 1987. They moved back to Washington that year. They have been residents of Littlerock, Washington for 18 years. This year would have been their 35th anniversary. Dale was a member of the American Welding Society and also taught welding school while at Timkens. Dale was last employed at Southgate Fence in Tumwater as their Weld Shop Manager. He was with Southgate for the past four years. The family would like to thank Southgate Fence for all of their support during Dale’s battle with cancer. Dale is survived by his wife Norma, daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mark Burkhart (Onalaska), grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Burkhart; brother and sister-in-law Garry and Elaine Scott (Oakville); stepdaughter, Debra Knotts (Rochester), stepsons, Doug Page (Ohio), Richard Page (Littlerock) and step daughter-in-law Peggy Hildebrandt; step grandchildren, Jenna Fowler, Justin and James Smith, Mini Knotts, Nathen Page, Alexa Nichols, Carrie Hildebrandt; step great-grandchildren, Desirae and Aiden Nichols, Alexa, Questin and Mason Fowler. Dale’s parents preceded him in death as did his stepson Dennis Hildebrandt. Dale loved his country and his family. He had a strong work ethic and all that knew him respected him. He loved living in Washington and enjoyed camping and fishing.
