Obituary of Mildred Schneider

Mildred “Millie” Schneider 1911-2008 Mildred “Millie” Schneider, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Great-great grandmother passed away peacefully with family at her side on a snowy December 26, 2008. Millie was born on May 28, 1911 in South Bend, to Peter Ledford and Nancy(Skidmore) Ledford, the fourth of 7 children. Millie married the love of her life C.W.(Wess) Schneider in 1928. Through her life she owned and operated a beauty shop in Shelton, and worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” at the Bremerton Navel Shipyard during World War II. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, traveling, crossword puzzles, dancing, playing pinochle, and visiting with friends and family. She lived the last 3 years with her daughter Joan Kudasik in Yelm. Millie was preceded in death by her husband C.W.(Wess) Schneider; daughter Lorrie Steenbergen; brothers Keifer, John, George, Robert; and sister Maxine. Millie is survived by her sister Lillian(Ledford)Basil of Allen; and loving twin daughters Joan Kudasik of Yelm, and Jean Caldwell of Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends and acquaintances.
