Obituary of Warren Schmitt

Warren John Schmitt Warren, 70, of Lacey passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 with family at his side. He was born July 4, 1941 in Portland, OR to Gordon and Clara Schmitt. Warren grew up in the Portland, OR area. He graduated from Washington High School (Portland) in 1959, and Portland State University in 1969. In 1966, he married his college sweetheart, Sharon Garrow. Together, they raised two children. Warren served in the U.S. Army. He was a Hearings Officer Adjudicator for the State of WA until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Warren enjoyed photography, sailing, traveling in his RV, skiing, mountain climbing and hiking. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Sharon, his son Ronald W Schmitt (Jennifer), and daughter Julie A Odum (Tony), and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Schmitt. Family suggests memorial donations to be made to The Salvation Army or SPS Habitat for Humanity.
