Obituary of Meredith Saxton

. Meredith Saxton, 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away, after a long illness, Wednesday, August 30, 2006 in the Panorama Convalescent Center in Lacey, Washington. She was born in Oakland, CA on December 14, 1917 to Albert and Eugene (Mickle) Wilber . During the course of her life, Meredith lived throughout Northern California, Lima, Peru, Bend, OR, Portland, OR and Lacey, WA. Meredith graduated from Oregon State College with a degree in home economics. She was a Pi Beta Phi. She moved to San Francisco and married William Davis and raised their three children. In the early 1990s she moved to Panorama where she met Lloyd K. Saxton. The two fell in love and married. Meredith had a passion for music and was an accomplished classical pianist from a young age. She loved gardening and flower arranging and received a number of accolades for these talents. She was adept as a seamstress, designing and sewing many of the clothes for herself and her children. Later, she created a line of high-end women’s garments, which she sold in shops on the California coast. Meredith also enjoyed being a fashion model of classic clothes. She was adventurous and loved trying new things. Throughout the last decade of her life, Meredith’s true passion was her love and devotion to her husband Lloyd. She lived her life beautifully, always with humor, style and grace. She is survived by her children, Meredy Davis, Marysville, WA, Kristin Davis, Dallas, GA, and Dean Davis, Salem, OR; grandchildren, T’Ann Landels, Bridget Davis, Rachel Valentine, Matthew Davis and Jillian Cosgrove; and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Panorama Quinault Auditorium on September 9th at 2:00pm. Help us continue the celebration of Meredith’s life with a reception following the service in the Garden Room at the Panorama Chamber House.
