Lois and Wyatt,
I returned from the South Pacific to find that Chuck had died. We knew each other and worked together starting in 1970. What a fine guy. I am very sorry. Hope all is well with you. I felt very badly that I missed the services. Love to you all. Ralph

Dear Louis and Wyatt
Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your dee Chuck. We were very sorry to heart the news and even more saddened to realize that my studio Christmas Recital would conflict with the Memorial Service.
He was such a wonderful man and will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched . Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time

I only met Chuck twice; both after his illness had set in. This didn't prevent me from seeing the caring and special person that he was. My husband knew Chuck in college and I've heard many stories over the years, making me sorry for not having known him earlier. Lois and Wyatt, I know Leon's been in touch with you, but I wanted to express my condolences and sorrow at your loss too. You are both fortunate to have had him in your lives and, Wyatt, it's up to you to ensure that his legacy lives on through your actions. His pride in you beamed through both times I saw him. May you both find solice in the memories he left you. With love, Nadine

I served with Chuck for many years on the Common Cause/Washington State Board and for a time as state President. Chuck and I occasionally had our differences over politics, but I considered him a dear friend and a mentor. I believe I can speak for the entire CC organization when I say he will be missed.

I've known Lois for many years. She was so happy to meet Chuck, marry him, and birth his son. Lois bloomed , filled with Chuck's love. Theirs was a beautiful love story of joy and contentment. Chuck always made me smile and I will forever enjoy memories of laughter with him and his family.

I was a VISTA Volunteer in 1975 and remember Chuck's work on our behalf. I was also a consumer advocate in the late 70's and early 80's and recall so many things he did to amplify the voice of the consumer. Rest assured that many people were affected by his hard work and values.

Chuck, my brother-in-law, was a gentle soul. As my sister Lois commented, Chuck never knew a stranger. I always knew him as a kind person to everyone. He and my sister Lois had a heartfelt and happy life together, and to show for it, a wonderful son Wyatt.
Chuck will be missed, but never forgotten.

Dear Wyatt,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I did not know your father, but he must have been a kind soul to have raised such a compassionate and caring son. May the Lord give you strength and serenity as you move through this loss.
Sincerely,
Sue Dial (Black Lake Elementary School)
