Linda: I asked at the Farmer's Market today when the Rutledge's would be coming with their corn. I was saddened to hear that Mr. Rutledge had died of cancer. I am so sorry for your loss and grateful for all the years that you cheerfully sold us that delicious bodacious corn. I'll miss seeing you there but hope you will enjoy quieter weekends with the love of your family and friends.

Linda and Kimmie, I just want you both to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers and you will stay there. You both were there for me in my time of need and still are. Your simple but heartfelt "how's Ashley doing", even when you were struggling yourself, I will never forget. This has been a long road for you and I hope the pain you feel now will subside and the memories will flourish and bring smiles and a warm heart. You both deserve that much and more!

Kim and family, I only met your father once, but in that short time I knew immediately how you could love him so much. I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing can take your hurt away but be strong, it will soften with time.

I was sorry to hear about Richard and all that he has been through. We always enjoyed him so much during the Rutledge reunions and the family times each June. This year will be much different and he will be missed greatly. He has made the Rutledge name proud and as always his example and spirit will live forever as a Rutledge legacy and part of our heritage. Love to you all a cousin Nellie

Kim and family,
My prayers are with you and the whole family. You have been a loving and caring daughter not only in these last few months but, I am sure, for the lifetime you shared with him. I have seen you express great compassion and love for your whole family during your father's illness. He must have been very proud of you.
Your workplace family loves you very much.

Stephen hunted with the family for many years. A time didn't go by when he did not come home with a "Richy" story. We also went to Reno for the wedding of Mike and Karen in 1994 where he and all of us had a great time. Our family was often included in many Rutledge Family celebrations and we always enjoyed celebrating with him. Our last celebration with Richy was on his 70th birthday we feel very blessed to have known him. All our best to the Rutledge Family. Thank you for letting be a part of your Dad's life.

I knew Richard for 50 years both as a brother-in-law and friend. He was always glad to see me and always treated me as a friend. I was very sorry to hear of his passing and know that his passing has relieved him of the constant pain. I also know that he is in a better place and will always remember him as "A GENTLMAN FARMER".

Dear Linda, We are so sorry to hear the sad news that Richard passed away. He was one of the best. I will always remember him calling the Rutledge Reunion to order and doing a wonderful job. Also, the Bodocious corn from the Rutledge Farm is the best corn we've ever eaten. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God Bless You!

I have many memories of Richard from the days we attended and graduated from Rochester High School. He was a good student but always quiet and shy. I enjoyed seeing him at the Rochester High School Reunion and the Rutledge Reunion each year. I will miss him.

It was great to watch Dick and the family operate such a viable and prosperous family farm in our little part of Thurston County. Dick and the family have added so much to our neighborhood. Thanks, Dick, for all the times you called me to cut and haul mature corn when I was running out of grass for my cattle. We will miss you.

Mr. Rutledge,
A man that made my dream a reality, a man with a giving heart, the man who let me hunt his land, someone I will never forget. I appreciate you Mr. Rutledge, I will always remember my younger years and all the geese that would swarm your farm. Those memories I will hold sincere, only because of you. Take care and God bless...

What a blessing he was for the community and Violent Crime Victim Services. I wish I had gotten to know Dick better, but sure enjoyed the time we did get to spend with together.
I pray you find comfort in knowing how many cared for and loved him.
God Bless you and keep you.
