Hi Barbra,
Don't know if you remember me, but your brother Harry was my hero when I was in High School. I worked with you on Harry's campaigns for State Senate and Congress.I got to know your whole family well, except your father.
I have been living in CA. all these years, and just moved back to the Harbor last year. I have always had a special place in my heart for the Elways.
So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a wonderful man.
I saw Janet Elway at the last class reunion and she told me of a book you wrote on the "Elways of Hoquiam". I would love to have a copy. Can you tell me where I might purchase the book.
Best Regards,
Emery

Barbara and family, I feel so blessed to have known Bob for sixteen years. What wonderful memories I hold dear to my heart.
My 1st anniversary was spent celebrating you and Bob's 50th. I remember looking at you both thinking how wonderful to be so in love 50 years later, and hoping I could be in your shoes in 49 years.
Praise the lord for Bob and all the lives he touched in love. I love you Barbara. Bob will be greatly missed!

Dear Barbara and Family - We are saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was such an example of a Christian life well-lived. Wally remembers Bob from the Full Gospel Businessmen's meetings and was always impressed with his kind and gentle Godly spirit. We pray the Lord's comfort and strength be with you at this time. Love in Christ, The Hunts.

Wednesday morning men's prayer time was always started with Bob praying to our savior Jesus Christ. He always thanked God for another day to praise Him. But before the prayer, Bob would always direct our thoughts to prayer time with a hearty AMEN. And at the restaurant after prayer time he also prayed for our meal together with that same first call, AMEN. Occassionally he would get our attention with his famous AT EASE. My memories of Bob, his prayers and his humor, are precious to me and I am blessed to have known both Bob and Barbara. AMEN!

Marilyn,
Although I never knew your father, I can see from what has been written that he was a Godly man and a blessing to his family and friends. My prayer is that our Lord will comfort you, your mother and your family during this difficult time. What a blessing to have had such a man as a father.

My sympathy and thoughts are with you during this time. Marilyn, it is hard to lose a father. I remember mine. Best wishes to all of your family. My mother used to always say, "This too will some day pass away." This is a thought that has always proved to be true.

I remember seeing Bob Rottle at his gas station on Grays Harbor years ago. (He had the prettiest dark eyes.) I was raised in Hoquiam and also play the trumpet. Wish I could have heard him play "Taps"! I remember watching Barbara 'toe dance' at Hoquiam High School's assemblies in 1942 or so. They had a wonderful Godly life together. They will be together again in Heaven some day.

I didn't know Bob until his later years. Bob was to me a man of prayer, I would always see him at church and it was easy to see how much he loved his Lord. He and Barbara where the only white haired people at our church for some time, and I can remember thinking how wonderful it mush be for their grandchildren to have Godly grandparents. Bob was a good example to us all. I rejoice that Bob ran the good race and is now with his Hevanly Father.
