Dona Robinson

Obituary of Dona Robinson

Dona Gail Robinson On July 6, 1943 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, Washington, Dana and Elizabeth Morrow together with their daughters, Patricia and Betty (better known as Johnie) welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Dona Gail Morrow, into their family. From the moment she opened her lively blue eyes, she delighted those who saw her and was adored by those who knew her. Every life she touched was richer and more loved. During her years at North Thurston High School, Dona made many friends with whom she stayed close well after her graduation in 1961. In fact, many of them remained dear friends throughout her life. In October 1964, she married Michael Taylor and together they grew their family to include Tiffany and Dana. Both children have grown up to be successful professionals in their respective field. And everyday, they count their blessings for having such a caring and supportive mother in their corner. She never judged, just loved. On April 4, 1997, Dona married Gary Robinson after 15 years of courtship. On that day, her family grew to include Gary’s sons Mitch and CJ, as well as a daughter-in-law, Francis (Mitch’s wife). For almost 30 years, they have been at one another’s side… experiencing all life had to offer together. Wonderful memories abound: Tiffany giving birth to her son, Ryan Shires in 1991; Mitch and Francis welcoming Reed and Colby to the family in 1993 and 1997 respectively; and Dana’s and May’s wedding in 1997. Throughout the years, Dona and her family joked, laughed, cried and loved. But, Dona’s love and kindness was not reserved only for her family. She limitlessly shared them with those around her. From those she worked with at the Department of Retirement Systems for nearly 25 years, to those who just needed a helping hand. Dona’s bright smile, infectious laugh, gentle compassion and sharp eye for a good sale were always near. On September 8, 2010 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, Washington, Gary Robinson said goodbye to a beautiful woman, Dona Gail Robinson, his wife. From the moment she closed her lively blue eyes for the last time, she made us all remember why she delighted us and we adored her. She was always loving and she will always be loved. Dona always cherished the relationship she had with her family and friends, so we wanted to honor her by inviting you to join us in celebrating her life.
