To Pam and David, and Bill. What a blessing your father was. He was the type of person that people just wanted to be around. He was clever and kind and just fun to be with! We will especially miss his "rascally" smile and his deep laugh. You have been loved so well by your father! I believe that his love and your mother's lives on in all of you to be passed on to others.
Love you, Jill and Jerry

Dear Pam, David and Family,
My heart goes out to you and your family at the loss of your beloved father. Your family was blessed to have him at the center of your lives. His strong faith in God and family were a shining light for all that knew him. It is so painful to lose someone so close, but your memories will never die. He is in a better place and now singing and rejoicing with the angels. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you prepare his final farewell.
Love,
Julie

To Pam and your family and Bill, Jr. and your family: Heartfelt condolences to you both. Bill, we've got some memories being high schoolers together in church and singing in the choir. Pam, you became such a special friend when you were in high school and I was in college. That's when I really learned that to be a friend of a Rearick kid meant I was welcomed into the Rearick home on a grand scale. I got to know your Grandmas, your Mom helped you sew my wedding dress, and your Dad read scripture at our wedding almost 32 years ago. It also was a pleasure and a privilege to work in your Dad's office at Seattle Pacific. He managed the potential chaos of any particular day in the Office of Academic Affairs with a calm and pleasant demeanor. I can still recall his laughter coming from his office. Your family came into my life for a season and I am thankful for the generous offering of friendship I received. And at this particular time I am remembering how much I learned from Dr. Rearick. (I never could bring myself to call him Bill.) He really was a teacher at heart. May God bless you with warm and happy memories. Fondly, Sue

Bill and Ida Mae were as "solid" a couple as I ever saw. As I handed them bulletins at church on Sunday, they were without fail warm, gracious, and... centered. When Ida Mae left to be with the Lord, Bill wore their wedding rings on a necklace. The Sunday before his surgery, Bill read to us from the Bible with obvious joy. He lives on for me as a role model for what marriage and faith should be. My heart goes out to all of you who knew him well - I can't imagine how much you must miss him. Perhaps the pain will bring you close to God and so, in a way, close to Bill and Ida Mae as well. God Bless.
