Obituary of Roderick Ray

No Col. R. Jack Ray Roderick “Jack” Ray was born November 15, 1928 in Woodland, California, to Jack Bruce Ray and Birdie Elizabeth (Easley) Ray. He passed away on June 20, 2012, at his home in Olympia, Washington, surrounded by family. Jack graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon, in 1946. In 1950, he graduated with a Civil Engineer degree from Oregon State University of Corvalis, Oregon. In 1980, Jack received his MBA and, in 1981 his MPA from City University of Bellevue, Washington. He received his Ph.D in 1985 from California Coast University of Santa Ana, California. Jack served two years in the Army Infantry for the Oregon State Guard. After spending 30 years with the U.S. Air Force, he retired with the rank of Colonel. Jack was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity (Beta Nu Chapter) and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Master Gardener in King County. Jack loved flying and gardening. He also enjoyed reading about military history and fiction based upon military history.
