Obituary of Robert Raincloud

Robert Edwin Raincloud Dad was an amazing person People who have met him instantly loved him. He was kind and gentle. He was and is his family’s Hero! We will miss him greatly. Our Husband, Dad and Friend Robert, 72, a resident of Olympia for 20 years, passed away on February 22, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington after brief battle with cancer. He had lived in Shelton and Union Washington and Priest Lake, Idaho before settling in Olympia. Robert was born October 27, 1939 in Whitehall, Montana his parents Edward and Phyllis Raincloud. In 1958 Robert graduated from Edger Montana High School. Robert then joined the Air Force. On July 3, 1959 in Jerome, Idaho he married Nona M. Adams. They continued to travel with his military career until retirement in 1979. He had served in Panama City, Goose Bay Labrador, Vandenberg, California, Mountain Home,Idaho,Wiesbaden, Germany, and Wichita Falls, Texas. Following his retirement from the Air Force. Robert worked as an auto mechanic from 1979 to 1985 and then he owned and operated Raincloud Cedar products, until retiring in 1991. He loved camping and fishing with his family. He enjoyed the out of doors and working with his hands. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, “Peggy”, sons Ronald E. Raincloud of Olympia and John H. Raincloud of Seattle; daughters Wendy (Steven) Klauk of Shelton, Kimberly Raincloud of Shelton; brother Fred Jensen of Billings Montana, and sisters, Romona Breshears , Penny Haynes both of Billings and Patricia Harkness of Spokane. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Nicolas Troy Raincloud. The family suggests memorial to Tacoma VA Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 11:15 at Tahoma National Cemetery Kent, Washington. Please sign the guestbook below.
