Obituary of Arthur Pruett

NA Arthur Herbert Pruett Arthur Pruett passed away on his birthday Sunday, March 4th, 2012 at his son's home in Lacey, Washington. Herb was born on March 4th, 1929 to Luther R and Dora R Pruett in Hattie, Missouri. At age seven, Herb moved with his family to Washington State in 1936. He went to Grays Harbor Community College, Conquerors Bible College and Texas Bible College. He was a licensed minister. Among Herb’s many occupations were home construction, forestry, mining, fishing, concrete structures and asphalt. He built multiple houses, worked on bridges and roads, a fish hatchery, a nuclear plant, the Tacoma Dome and the Alaska Pipeline. Prospecting for gold, he often came across Iron Pyrite and what little gold he did find, he gave away. A part time inventor, his favorite invention was the universal ball. He loved traveling, visiting relatives, taking pictures and playing guitar. We would spend time around the camp fire playing various instruments while he played the guitar or harmonica. Herb really enjoyed the old church songs like “The Old Time Religion”. The community knew Herb as the man who walked everywhere. His family knew him as the Grandpa, Uncle, brother who handed out $20 bills and paid for their meals. He is preceded in death by two children Paul and Timothy, three brothers William, Ross and Albert, and one sister Geneva and is survived by his son John, his grandson Matthew and his granddaughter Annalise all of Lacey WA, as well as his brothers Herman and Victor and his sisters Juanita, Goldie, Irene, and Mae.
