Obituary of Barbara J. Porthen

Barbara Jean (Cornett) Porthen Barbara J. Porthen, 52, of Chehalis, died April 23, 2009. She was born July 18, 1956 in Pasco to Warren and Lela (Gerber) Cornett. She was a 1974 graduate of Pasco High School and a 1992 graduate of Centralia College. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Among her interests were gardening, cooking, spending time with family and playing with her grandsons. Barbara is survived by her son, Christopher Hardesty (Shayna Nelson); 3 daughters, Dana Hardesty, Melanie Ondong (Arman), and Aimee Haenke (Matthew); 2 brothers, Stan and Gary Cornett; 2 sisters, Gwen Bousman and Peggy Clinton; 3 grandchildren, Kaily Degaw, Ethan Ondong, and Elias Haenke; also multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; step-mother, Mary Anne Cornett. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1607 Military Rd, Centralia WA 98531.
